Do heroes make PvE too easy?
My friends (usually 2 or 3) do Fissure of Woe with heroes. 2 peeps and 6 heroes, or 3 peeps with heroes rock. With care we could if we had the time finish FoW, but with careful build and hero synergy the area is quite easy. Of course teamspeak is an awesome asset. Hero monks are diligent and never go afk or leave the game when things are not going smoothly. So we do UW, FoW and the final missions with heroes and they are relatively easy.
Granted we have cookie butter builds on the heroes, but henchman have sour dough batter builds.
Can we expect to see another game balancing fiasco around heroes or is it just PvP players that complain and get ANet nerfing our fun?
If an area is too easy for you with a team of 8, then reduce the size of the team to 7 or 6 or even 5.

No.
PvE has always been easy. FoW is no different. Heroes just reassure that fact.

If you want it harder, just pick only 1 hero or 0.

Nah, people just suck.
Heroes are just like playing with people who listen and don't bitch. That's why people use them.

Heroes don't make PvE too easy, they just allow you to bypass the hassle of getting in a team with complete scrubs that don't know how to do THK.

Heroes only show you one thing: PvE was designed the way even average player can complete it and bad player cam complete it with luck.
Aka, casual players can have fun, if casuals dont have fun -> they don't buy sequels/badmouth game -> less revenue for anet, unhappy customer - loose/loose situation.
Therefore, If you go with non-scrub build on heroes who dont slack behing and know how to focus fire, duh, you will see that area was designed for less skilled people. You will get exactly same (no, even better) result with good reall epople who are used to play together and who dont scrub ... but thats kinda hard to find in pve.
Try going with average pug without deep intra build synergies - you will see that area can be very challenging.
Hint: Every game is designed to be winnable. Games that frustrate customers dont sell.
It also shows why PvPers always shouting back that PvE is too easy. It was NOT designed for them.

Hero's use builds you tell them to. If you know what your doing they work well. All they are is a good pug team. You can be damn sure 'your' ele won't bring something useless like Firestorm. Cleared out the whole Burning Forest with 5 heros and myself (the other 2 people had had to go by this point). Tower of Strength with 2 people/5 heros? 3x Barrage w/ Razah running Splinter, enemies mobs didn't die, they disintegrated. Could kill 4x Ranger 2x Monk groups instantly. Abyssal groups weren't a problem, the other human player was running a tank.
Basically its what Gimme said above me... hero's bypass the idiot factor in places like THK, it was always an easy mission with a decent team, heros are that decent team.

Heroes dont make PvE too easy, Idiot pugs make it too hard.
I were in one of the harder missions in vabbi, NF the other day on my monk, and the leader decided that me and her hero monk would suffice. I was playing SoR prot monk at that time and requested that she rolled a WoH healer to compensate for healing (Or to just take mhenlo instead).
Her heroes bar was : Healing burst, heal other, jameis gaze, protective spirit, ment ailment, and a load of other junk that I cant remeber, and she just entered the mission without listening to my advice. I just raged rather then having to put up with a team that was just going to lose because that hero would have ran out of energy in 5 seconds. Oh yes, and a flame fest started by the leader then begun between us.
*I was only pugging because I havnt leveled my heroes on my monk yet*
I dont even know why I bother to pug anymore in this game having to put up with these kind of morons, granted that I completed that mission with hench, a lvl 16, and two lvl 18 heroes after.

I think the prot of tyria title has absolutely gone to waste since the arrival of heroes. It was a relatively hard title in comparison, which is why at the time i went for GMC (ended up being much harder). But since nf i've got all heroes and took out tyria prot in a few years (most bonus's were done). So in a way it makes the other campaigns ALOT easier to go throguh, and yes i did think it was unfair in this manner, especially to those without NF.

Hehe, reminds me of my Renewal Firestorm Sousuke (who i have never actually used) and my Renewal Mantra of Persistance Illusion Hexer Zhed (who i have only used for the nice 30+ second snares on the 2 runners in Moddok).
The price you pay for having no ele skills on that account.

1) Heroes dont take mending and heal sig
2) Heroes dont go afk or rage quit
3) Heroes dont fall asleep or forget to heal
4) Heroes dont shit talk
5) Heroes follow targets
Thats why they make the game easy.

Actually that's not entirely true.
There are situations i stood there with my nec, sacrificing myself to the death without any healing support. Sometimes it can take them over 30 sec to heal me.
Heroes constantly talk. Only in those little speech clouds above their heads.
AND HALF THE TIME they refuse to follow targets. They are really crappy listeners.

I think addition of heroes was great.
But I haven't tried them out in places like RoT, still leveling all of them up and stuff.

The only thing wrong with heroes that I've noticed is the ability for them to carry the most elite builds in the game as early as level 3. As soon as you get them they have every skill you have ever unlocked on every character. They are very helpful in harder areas though especially areas where people are hardly found.

I found that heroes are great, running two SF eles will burn all to the ground. Until i try to get my mesmer through the game, it a bit harder since i want heroes/hench to kill something while i interrupt casters. Heroes are too good at following target that it make the game a bit harder.
Tip: if you want hero to follow your target - click on the target to select them and repeatedly tap space bar (default action) a few times and that will ensure they atk the target.
